DX Launcher is here!
š The Tease is Over ā Itās Official! š
Weāre excited to announce that the DX-Launcher is now LIVE to the public!
No more struggling with slingshots, ropes, or tossing weights over trees. Weāve taken the concept of the potato gun and engineered it into the most powerful and precise dipole antenna launcher ever designed for amateur radio.
This is not just another toolāitās a game-changer for hams everywhere. With the DX-Launcher, getting your lines over tall trees has never been this quick, accurate, or fun.
Stay tuned, because weāre about to showcase exactly why the DX-Launcher belongs in your shack (and in the field) as the ultimate antenna deployment solution.

Why the DX Launcher and Why Now?
The story goes back to 2008, when we launched Hudson Valley Towersāa company that quickly became known and respected throughout the Northeast for building world-class radio stations. From modest backyard setups to massive MEGA sites along the coast of Maine, our work put us at the center of the amateur radio community.
But hereās the twist: while we started as a tower company, we werenāt just erecting steel. Clients constantly asked us to install wire antennas, and thatās where the real challenge came in. Getting wires up and over tall trees or across tricky terrain meant we had to be creative. Believe meāwe tried everything! From homemade contraptions to old-school potato guns, nothing ever quite hit the mark.
And thatās where the seed for the DX Launcher was planted.
Bobby KC2UPN, Ray W2REās son - In the spring of 2025, Bobby turned to his dad and asked, āWhatās going on? The welding field is saturatedāthereās just not much happening right now.ā
Ray smiled and said, āIāve got plenty of workāif youāre ready to take HamRadio 24-7 to the next level with media. And of course, weāll never run out of tower projects with Radio Echo Communications. But letās save the tower work for laterāthis is about something bigger: the DX Launcher.ā
Thatās when Ray pitched an idea they had talked about years earlier: āRemember the potato gun? Letās design something betterāsomething we can build, refine, and bring to market.ā
With Rayās knack for marketing and Bobbyās drive to build, the seed for the DX Launcher was planted. And this time, it wasnāt just a backyard experimentāit was the start of a product that would change the game for hams everywhere.
Throughout the summer of 2025, we dropped teaser after teaser on social mediaājust enough to show our progress, but never the full picture. And let me tell you, the buzz it created was incredible. The anticipation alone was enough to make the DX Launcher something people had to get their hands on.
Hereās a look back at one of those very early postsāthe one that planted the seed and set this whole movement in motion.
After months of testing, tweaking, and going from one design to the nextāwe finally went live with the DX Launchers!
We started with the DX Launcher PVC Tank, but then took things up a notch with the bad boy of the lineup: the DX Launcher Plus, featuring a commercial-grade metal tank. Both models will easily clear a 150' tree, but the Plus can launch as high as 300'.
The DX Launcher comes ready to go with:
A durable carry bag (not the DX plus)
Three weighted tennis balls
Our custom-built DX Reel, loaded with 300' of high-tensile string
The reel even detaches so you can connect a drill and quickly wind your line back with rope on the other end.
We designed the launcher for a simple over-the-shoulder shotāand trust us, this thing is powerful. At just 60 PSI on the PVC tank or 30 PSI on the metal tank, most 100' trees donāt stand a chance.
The DX Launcher isnāt just a toolāitās a game changer for antenna installations.
We have five 3D printers producing REELS 24/7 for future DX-Launcher sales. We have 200 sales to full-fill in October!
But, heres where it all startedā¦ā¦.
We officially went live at HamX in Marlborough, MA this past Augustāand letās just say, our booth turned heads. In fact, it was the busiest spot at the entire hamfest. Why? Because the DX Launcher was brand new, and everyone wanted to know what it was all about.
Even with industry giants like FlexRadio, RemoteHamRadio, and Elecraft surrounding us, the buzz at our booth was unreal. The reaction from the community was the same across the board: āWOW!ā
And of course, the metal tank version stole the show. More than a few people even joked, āDo you need a carry permit for that thing?ā š
The DX Launcher didnāt just make an entranceāit made an impact.

Dan, WA1QZX from Rhode Island, purchased a DX Launcher at the HamX convention in August. His very first antenna installation using the launcher was a success! He was kind enough to share his feedback with us in his own words, and I couldnāt resist passing it along.
āI used my new DX launcher to put up wire antennas from my new remote station in Charlestown, RI. The launcher worked perfectly. First shot at 55 psi , got the line over a nice branch at 90 ft. Also, the tennis balls are weighted just right so they come down to the ground very nicely. You can adjust the launch power for distance / height above ground by experimenting with psi pressure. Aiming about 10-15 above desired target works good depending upon how far away you are and how many feet above ground your going for. This is the best launcher I have used. Bonus is you reel the launch line back in using drill attachment. I really had fun this weekend launching lines. It was a real pleasure using such a well designed and constructed launcher such as this. Thank You! Dan de WA1QZX.ā
Before we officially went LIVE with sales, we wanted to make a splash. So, we gave away the very first DX Launcher as a door prize at both the Contest Mini University and HamX.
The excitement was electricāeveryone wanted to be the first to get their hands on it. And when that first unit was handed out, it wasnāt just a prize⦠it was the beginning of the DX Launcher story.
This is the METAL Tank! Its a beast! 200ā or 300ā is possible!
